About Me
Ph.D. and Consulting
I did my Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mark Hannington. My work focused on host rocks of seafloor massive sulphides and their ancient analogs volcanogenic massive sulphides. Using various machine learning techniques I developed classifier to detect mineralization potential, lithotectonic environments and significantly improved the usage of legacy data lacking crucial trace element concentrations. Methods I developed during my Ph.D. have been published in Economic Geology and were succesfully applied during the NGEA (Next Generation Explorer Award) identifying prospective environments in the Flin Flon Greenstone Belt.
B.Sc. & M.Sc
My B.Sc. at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg focused on chromium enriched paleosoil near Udaipur, India. During this time I came in love with enrichment processes and Economic Geology. This lead to my my M.Sc. thesis focused on the Vergenoeg Fe-F-REE deposit, South Africa. Results have been published in Geologgy, Journal of Petrology and gained significant interest in the Economic Geology community (see Mining.com). I received my M.Sc. in Petrology, Georesources and Applied Sedimentlolgy at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2017.
